Dr. Avishek Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. He specializes in Intellectual Property Rights with research expertise in music piracy in the Indian film industry. He has conceptualized and delivered specialized IPR courses for undergraduate law students. He also designed industry-oriented intellectual property training programs for engineering students. Dr. Chakraborty introduced the Law of Copyright course using a Learner-Centric Approach to meet industry needs. As coordinator of the IPR Committee, he led the publication of Intellectuallis, a newsletter on contemporary IP issues. He also organized awareness programs on intellectual property rights protection. His recent research focuses on protecting Karnataka?s traditional dance forms. He collaborates internationally, organizing discussions on protecting Traditional Cultural Expressions with the University of Padjadjaran, Indonesia. Dr. Chakraborty serves as the Department Coordinator of the Incubation and Entrepreneurship Support Cell. He is also a member of the IPR, Legal, and Ethical Matters Committee in the Research and Development Cell.
